When using the impact electric drill, maintenance staff often encounters the slipping, breaking and squeaking of the impact electric drill. We summarized the following precautions:
1. After the bit is used, it shall be checked immediately for damage, passivation and other defects. If any, it shall be grinded and trimmed immediately;
2. When storing, the drill bit should be seated according to the number, so it is convenient and time-saving when taking it in the future and saves the time of looking for the drill bit again;
3. When drilling through holes, when the drill bit is about to drill through, the torque is the largest. Therefore, it is necessary to feed slowly with light pressure to avoid the drill bit from being broken due to excessive force;
4. Before drilling, the center point must be drilled to prevent the drill bit from slipping away from the center and guide the drill bit in the correct position;
5. When drilling, make full use of cutting and pay attention to chip removal;
6. When drilling cross holes, large diameter holes shall be drilled first and then small diameter holes;
7. When the drill bit is drilling, it breaks or stops suddenly, which may be due to too fast feed or rapid cooling and heating;
8. Drilling causes the center of the drill bit to crack. It may be that the clearance angle of the drill lip is too small, the feed is too fast, the bit is in passivation, the pressure is too high, there is a lack of cooling, and the drill bit or work-piece is clamped poorly;
9. When drilling, the drill bit breaks, which may be caused by too small clearance angle of the drilling lip, too high drilling speed, large feed, or the drill bit continues to press cutting after passivation;
10. When drilling, the cutting edge is broken, which may be caused by hard spots and sand holes in the work-piece material or too fast feed, improper selection of drilling speed and no simultaneous cutting during drilling;
11. The drilling hole diameter is too large, which may be caused by unequal half angles of the drill top, deviation of the static point, deviation of the main shaft and other reasons;
12. Only one chip is discharged during drilling, which may be due to the unequal length of the two cutting edges or the unequal half angle of the top of the drill;
13. The squeaking sound during drilling may be caused by the non-straight drilling or the passivation of the drill bit;
14. Abnormal changes in chip properties during drilling may be caused by passivation or fragmentation of cutting edges.
