Safety Operation Procedures for Hand-held Electric Tools

1. Purpose:
Standardize operation to ensure safe operation and normal operation of equipment.

2. Scope:
It is applicable to the safe operation of hand-held electric tools (electric hand drill, angle grinder, cutting machine, electric hammer).

3. Safety operation procedures:
1. Before use:
(1) Labor protection articles must be properly worn to ensure personal safety during use.
(2) Check whether the shell, handle switch, etc. have cracks and fractures, and whether the power wire is intact.
(3) Check whether the mechanical protective device is intact and firmly installed. It can be used only after it is confirmed that there is no error and the test run is normal.
(4) Check whether the grinding wheel of the angle grinder is chipped or damaged.
(5) Check whether the belt of the cutting machine is damaged and whether the belt tightness is appropriate.
(6) Check whether the bits of electric hand drill and electric hammer are bent or deformed.

2. When used:
(1) After the machines and tools are started, first run them without load, and then operate them after checking and confirming that the linkage of machines and tools is flexible and unimpeded. During operation, the force shall be applied stably without excessive force.
(2) Overload operation is strictly prohibited. Pay attention to the sound and temperature rise at any time during operation. In case of any abnormality, stop the machine immediately for inspection. When the operation time is long and the temperature rise of the machine exceeds 60 ℃, the machine shall be shut down and the operation shall be carried out after natural cooling.
(3) During operation, it is forbidden to touch the cutting tools, drill bits and grinding wheels by hand. If they are found to be blunt or damaged, they should be repaired or replaced immediately, and the operation can be continued after they are normal.
(4) When the machine is rotating, do not do other things at the same time, let alone leave it alone.
(5) In case of unexpected shutdown, turn off the switch on the hand-held electric tool immediately, especially the angle grinder, to prevent injury caused by sudden operation without turning off the switch.
(6) When drilling with electric hammer, first press the drill against the working surface, and then start it with appropriate force to avoid shaking. If the speed drops sharply, reduce the force to prevent the motor from overload. It is strictly prohibited to use wooden bars and other objects to suppress. When drilling, attention shall be paid to avoiding the reinforcement in the concrete.
(7) Electric drills and hammers shall be of 40% intermittent working system and shall not be used continuously for a long time.
(8) When using an angle grinder, the grinding wheel and the work-piece surface shall be kept at an inclined position of 15 ~ 30 degrees. During cutting operation, do not bend and deform the grinding wheel with excessive force.
(9) Three types of hand-held electric tools with isolation transformer should be selected in narrow places (boilers, metal containers, trenches, pipelines, etc.). If class II hand-held electric tools are selected, splash proof leakage protector must be installed, and the isolation transformer or leakage protector must be installed outside the narrow place, and there should be someone to monitor during work.
(10) Class II hand-held electric tools shall be used in general places, and the rated operating current shall be less than 15mA and leakage protector with rated operation time less than 0.1s. If class I hand-held electric tools are used, neutral protection must also be provided. Operators must wear insulating gloves, insulating shoes or stand on insulating mats.
(11) Precautions for use: it is strictly prohibited to dismantle the mechanical safety protection devices of machines and tools without authorization, and it is strictly prohibited to operate without safety protection devices. It is strictly forbidden to operate the machines and tools with faults. It is strictly prohibited to bend or deform the drill bit, and to operate when the grinding wheel is chipped or damaged.

3. Maintenance:
(1) Routine maintenance includes the following:
1) Whether the shell and handle are cracked or damaged.
2) Whether the protective grounding wire is connected correctly and firmly.
3) Whether the flexible cable is intact.
4) Whether the plug is complete without damage.
5) Whether the switch action is normal and flexible, and whether there is any defect or damage.
6) Whether the electrical protection device is in good condition.
7) Whether the mechanical protective device is intact and firm.
8) Whether the rotating parts of the tool are flexible and unobstructed.
(2) Regular maintenance: on the basis of routine maintenance, the insulation resistance of tools must also be measured (measured with a 500 volt megohmmeter, of which the insulation resistance of class I tools is 2 megohms, the insulation resistance of class II tools is 7 megohms, and the insulation resistance of class III tools is 1 megohm).
(3) If it is not used for a long time, its insulation resistance must be measured before use. It can be used only after it is checked to be qualified.
(4) Non full time personnel shall not dismantle and repair tools without authorization.
